Even since I remember I love strawberries. In Dutch we call them “zomerkoninkjes’ which means “kings of summer”. I title they deserve for sure! So this moment of the year, when I can buy locally grown organic strawberries, I am very happy. From strawberry ice-cream to strawberries with vinegar, I always like them 🙂
I remember a story my father used to tell me. When I was a little girl and we went to the market to buy fruits and vegetables, my father had to stand in front of the strawberries at the market stall so that I would not see them… other wise I would scream until I got hold of them. Strawberry craziness I call that!
Today I made a quick and tasteful strawberry sauce, which is great with yoghurt, on your ganola, with you ice-cream of cheese cake. This great thing about this sauce is that NO cooking is needed.
You simple just puree them though a sieve and add lemon, vanilla and honey. What a wonderful wonderful world!
