Need some power? This thick creamy smoothie is packed with greens, good fats and tastes great! It is an excellent way to start you day or fuel your body with good food after a workout.
Actually you do not really need a reason to treat yourself to a delicious and healthy smoothie, it is always a good idea. For me smoothie is part of my daily food. At the moment I am experimenting a bit with the colours, but I feel already that I am moving back into the direction of green. I really think is is a great way to get you daily dose of greens and that it contributes highly to a healthy lifestyle.
Just to pick one of the ingredients: superfood avocado. This beautiful piece of fruit, yes fruit not vegetable, is packed with fiber and a lot of other healthy nutrients, like:
- vitamines B & C
- vitamines A, E & K
- carotenoids; boost immunity
- antioxidants phytochemicals; prevent free radicals
- phytonutrients; anti inflamatory
- important trace vitamines; magnesium, potassium, iron and copper
- mono saturated fats
Combining this with the benefits of broccoli, I cannot conclude other than that this smoothie is definitely good for you!
Green power smoothie
Green power smoothie with broccoli, spinach, avocado, pear, pineapple, dates and almondmilk
- 150 gr broccoli florets
- 50 gr spinach
- 150 gr pineapple
- 150 gr avocado
- 250 gr pear
- 40 gr medjool dates
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 500 ml almond milk unroasted, unsweetened
Put all the ingredients in the blender in the following order: almond milk, lemon juice, dates, vanilla extract, pineapple, avocado, pear, spinach, broccoli and switch it on
Increase the speed from low to high until you have a smooth and creamy thick smoothie. If your blender gets stuck, stop it, stir the ingredients and switch the blender back on
