Nutella must be one of the most favourite products ever… recently when one of the big french supermarket chains put it on a discount, people were literally fighting each other over a jar. You should have seen it on television, hilarious!
“you cannot make everybody happy, you are not a nutella jar”
But it seems that deliciousness comes at a cost… refined sugar! Not a good match with a healthy lifestyle.
No worries, I got some good news for you: making your own unrefined, gluten and lactose free Nutella is easy peasy, takes just a little bit of your time and I promise it will fulfil all your senses. Guaranteed no disappointment!
healthy homemade nutella
Unrefined, gluten & lactose free, delicious and healthy homemade nutella
- 125 gr hazelnuts
- 15 gr cacao powder raw
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 75 ml almondmilk unsweetened
- 1 pinch salt
preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celcius (hot air oven) and roast the hazelnuts for 10 to 12 minutes until amber
let them cool down a little and then roll them in a clean tea towel to remove the skin
add them to your food processor and let it run for 10 minutes until they transform into a smooth and creamy paste
add the cacao powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt and mix well
then add the almond milk, tablespoon by tablespoon, until it is perfect! You might use a bit more or less than the 5 tablespoons (75 ml) I have used. Store the nutella in a cool place
